EXIT Real estate associate receives award for outstanding work in the community

<img alt="Hope White" hspace="5" src="http://www.exitnews.info/times/blog/AR101-LauraHopeWhite.jpg" align="left" vspace="5" border="0" />Hope White of EXIT Bob Linn Real Estate in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has been awarded the 2007 Open Door Award by the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS®. The award was announced at OAR's 2007 Education Conference & Trade Show. This award is given to REALTORS® who give back to their community by doing volunteer work. Winners of this award must be recommended by their peers as having gone above and beyond in helping their community. Hope was one of three to win the coveted award this year.Hope has been in the Real Estate Industry for 25+ years and is a vital member of the EXIT Bob Linn Real Estate team, specializing in relocation, executive homes and new home construction. Hope's other awards and accomplishments include: OAR Secretary/Treasurer 2008; Oklahoma CRS President 2008, Member since 1989; 2006 OAR REALTOR® of the Year; OAR Leadership Award 2006; OAR Board of Directors Award 1996, Member OAR Board of Directors since 1995; and past Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® (OCMAR) Board of Director.As for community involvement, Hope does volunteer work with organizations such as <a title="Habitat for Humanity" href="http://www.habitat.org/" target="_blank">Habitat for Humanity</a> and Christmas Connection. However, her heart is in an all-volunteer nonprofit organization called Other Options, Inc., which helps to provide, among other things, basic needs for often terminally ill, low income HIV/AIDS patients in the Oklahoma City area. Other Options works to help maintain its clients' independence for as long as possible. Toward that end, Hope was instrumental in helping to establish a food bank called Food For Friends Pantry sponsored by that organization. At present, the pantry serves over 275 families on a weekly basis. Those able can "shop" for free food at the store for their basic food needs. For those unable to shop for themselves, volunteers deliver their supplies to them. When asked about the award, Hope said that she was more excited about winning the Open Door Award than about having won REALTOR® of the Year last year. She said, "This year, this award is not about me, but about the people we're helping." Besides the award itself, Hope received a check in the amount of $1,000 for Other Options, Inc.
